Shortly after the declaration of the pandemic that came to disrupt the lives of everyone worldwide, the Decameron Short Story Contest 2020 It arose from the interest in opening creative horizons in each of the girls, boys and young people in Mexico who were beginning to live the experience of being forced to remain confined. After an arduous selection process, the jury chose one hundred winning stories from the more than 600 that were sent from 24 states of the Republic and even from abroad.
Among the collected works are fairy tales and science fiction; myths, legends and fables; chronicles, memoirs and diaries; bestiaries, comics, micro-stories and the occasional poetry, all stories accompanied by images that are sometimes presented as drawings or paintings illuminated with watercolors, pencils and even chalk, digital graphics or photographs. The variety is as wide as the imagination.
The one hundred stories gathered here represent a meeting place for Mexican youth , because it is increasingly necessary for young people to feel connected and interested in sharing the wealth of diversity that characterizes the world today.
